About the Author Dr. Dalim Kumar Baidya (MD,EDIC) is an Additional Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine, and Critical Care at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He has published over one hundred papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals and has currently more than thirty ongoing original researches. He is intimately involved in academics, teaching, and clinical practice in critical care and has special research interest in certain aspects of critical care such as sepsis, hemodynamics, mechanical ventilation, point of care ultrasound, and peri-operative outcome. He regularly organizes CMEs and workshops on various aspects of critical care. Dr. Hemanshu Prabhakar (MD, PhD) is a Professor at the Department of Neuroanesthesiology and Critical Care at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He is the first Indian to be awarded the degree of PhD in Neuroanesthesia, in the country. He is a recipient of the AIIMS Excellence Award 2012 for his notable contribution to academia and has published over 250 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals. He has a special interest in the evidence-based practice of neuroanesthesia. Dr. Prabhakar wasthe past secretary of the Indian Society of Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care and is the past executive editor of the Journal of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care. He is the first Indian to publish international books in the specialty of neuroanesthesia. He was featured in the Limca Book of Records 2019 for publishing several books on a niche subject.
